What are Memory DVDs?

Memory DVDs are professional, personalized slideshow movies created from your digital photographs and or videos with background music of your choosing. The movies are transferred to a DVD and are formatted to play in any DVD player or computer DVD drive.

Why would I want to preserve my Photos to a Memory DVD?

When you put your photos on a Memory DVD you bring your digital photos to life and preserve your memories for generations to come. Just put in the DVD, hit play, and relive your precious moments today!

What is the creation process of the Memory DVD?

  • We discuss the specifics of your DVD which includes: special event or theme, picture timeline, choice of music (any genre), text titles or a voiceover (personalized recorded message), the number of DVD copies needed, and completion date.
  • After we receive your digital photos and or video; using specialized software, we begin creating your personalized slideshow.
  • We apply the Ken Burns transition. This effect will provide a pan-and-zoom motion to all the photos.
  • Sync music to the photo timeline.
  • Burn Memory slideshow movie to DVD.
  • Design the DVD case insert, and DVD.
  • Email design proofs of DVD insert and DVD for final approval.
  • Revisions can be made to text only, not the layout. If you would like to purchase a custom layout for your insert and DVD, you can do so for an additional fee (see additional service fees below).
  • Print DVD insert, and DVD. We print directly on to the actual DVD so there isn’t a sticky label that would peel or fade.
  • Assemble, Package and Ship.

How do I prepare my photos?

  1. Begin preparing your photo timeline by collecting your digital photos, printed photos, and any other mementos you want to include in your Memory DVD slideshow. Burn your digital photos to a CD or DVD. We also accept memory and or flash cards. DO NOT SEND YOUR ORIGINAL COPIES!
  2. Place the photos in the order you would like them to appear in the slideshow. This is called creating a photo timeline.
  3. Number the back of each photo. When including digital photos write the file name (i.e. mombday.jpg #8) and the number on the back of an index card or Post-it® note (DO NOT write directly on the back of the photo) and include it in the order you want it to appear in the photo timeline.
  4. Write up the title screens and place them in the order they should appear in the photo timeline. Be sure to number them on the back just like the photos (i.e. “Baby Jacob Born on May 1, 1995, #5). Include another special instructions such as: family members, memories or dates you want referenced on the DVD.
  1. Indicate which songs go with which photos (i.e. "That Song" should play with photos 1-15). (Copyright laws prevent us from providing music recorded by a specific artist or band. You must provide the music for the DVD.) If you like, we can create original melodies- just ask us how.
  1. It is extremely important to specify the type of DVD player that the slideshow will be viewed on.  Be sure to include the make and model of your DVD player. This will insure that the DVD will play.
  1. Payment due at the time the order is placed.  Enclose cash, money order made payable to Melissa Coon.
